Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Ford Focus- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at installing the CURT Class 1 trailer hitch receiver on a 2017 Ford Focus. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on your Focus, and the great part is, it's a hidden cross tube, meaning the only thing that you're visibly gonna be able to see from the outside of the vehicle is gonna be the receiver. And so you get all the use of a hitch without having anything gaudy hanging down underneath the vehicle. Now this is a Class 1, meaning it's gonna be an inch and a quarter inch receiver tube opening, so you're a little bit limited when it comes to ball mounts, bike racks, and cargo carriers. I have one of these on my vehicle because that's all that was available, but there are definitely bike racks out there and cargo carriers that will work with this. Either way, you're adding a lot of usability to your vehicle, and all of your accessories, no matter what they are, will be loaded up and held in place with a half-inch pin and clip. more

Connor: Hey guys, how's it going Connor here today, at e.trailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at these Draw-Tite class one trailer hitch receiver, here for our 2018 Ford Focus. Our Draw-Tite trailer hitch is going to be an excellent option here for our Ford Focus. Although it has a class one rating, we're still going to be able to use a ton of different bike racks, cargo carriers, if we want to free up some space in the vehicle, or we want to hit the trails. Also, we can even have the option to tow a trailer, if our vehicle allows us. As you can see here, we have a one and a quarter inch receiver tube opening, and this is where the shank of our bike racks and cargo carriers is going to go, as well as our ball mount. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Ford Focus, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the Draw-Tite Class One Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 24872. Here's what our hitch is going to look like.The cross tube is going to be hidden behind the bumper, and all we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out. It is a class one hitch, which means it's going to give us an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening. It's going to be great for a lot of those smaller bike racks or some of the smaller cargo carriers.The way we're going to attach any of our accessories is going to be to the hitch pinhole here in the side. Best 2017 Ford Focus Hitch Options- Video

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2017 Ford Focus. On top here we're going to have to Draw-Tite Class 1. Right below it we're going to have to CURT Class 1 hitch. Now both of these hitches are going to work with the sedan and hatchback model, but if you have an ST model focus, you will need to find a different hitch.The Draw-Tite here is going to be a Class 1 hitch so it's going to give us that 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" receiver tube opening and have that nice clean flush-cut finish on it. The CURT is also a Class 1 so it's going to have that 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" receiver tube opening, but it does have that reinforced collar, giving it a nice look.Now both of our hitches are going to feature a 200 pound tongue weight along with a 2,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. Now I do want to mention you always want to double check your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure it can handle that amount of weight. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Ford Focus - Draw-Tite- Video

Today on our 2017 Ford Focus, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the draw tight class one custom fit trailer hitch receiver, part number 24872. The crosstube's going to be tucked up behind the bumper nicely, and all we're really going to see is our receiver tube sticking out. It is a class one hitch, so we're going to get that 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" receiver tube opening. Our hitch is going to use a standard 1/2" pinning clip. They're not included, but you can pick some up on our website using part number PC2. Now as far as the safety chain loops are concerned, they're going to be a rolled steel stock style, that's welded to the bottom of our receiver tube and as you can see, we're not going to have too much trouble getting most sized hooks on or off. Now our hitch is going to feature a 200 lb tongue weight, along with a 2,000 lb gross trailer weight rating. more

Today in our 2014 Ford Focus, we'll be installing the Curt class one trailer hitch receiver, part number C11158. Here's what the hitch looks like installed. As you can see it's nice and hidden up underneath our bumper cover here. The only part hanging down is our class one, inch and a quarter receiver, and our safety shame 00:00:20 loops right here. Now our hitch has a nice finished-off appearance with this welded on collar at the end of it. Gives it a classy look, and doesn't take away from the aesthetic purposes of the car. This hitch has a two hundred pound max towing weight capacity, and a two thousand pound max gross trailer weight capacity. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Ford Focus - Hidden Hitch- Video

Today on our 2010 Ford Focus, we're going to be installing the Hidden hitch trailer hitch receiver, part number: 60886. Here's what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. We'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements in helping you chose some accessories for your hitch such as a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground we have 12", from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper we have 5". Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. We're going to begin here, underneath the vehicle over on the drivers side. We're going to need to remove two rubber exhaust hangers in order to gain access to one of our mounting locations. We'll need to remove this rubber exhaust hanger, as well as this rubber exhaust hanger. To do that we use a little bit of spray lubricant, and either a large flat head screw driver, a pry bar, or an exhaust removal tool. Next we're going to need to loosen the heat shield. In order to do that we'll need to remove these little fasteners right here. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Ford Focus- Video

Today on this 2009 Ford Focus we are going to install part number 11319 from Curt. The first step involved is to lower the exhaust. It looks like on this particular model there is two rubber hangers to remove. One here and one towards the back. Spray that down with some lubricant remove it from the pipe. We will take a pry bar and push the rubber hanger off. We are going to spray down this hanger in the back with some lubricant and pry it off. There is really not much to pry against or anything to get a hold of this rubber hanger so we used a couple of wooden blocks to give us something to pry against will work fine. First off we have got to worry about this going back and forth. Put the block right here so when we pry it over to keep it from pulling everything that way and for something to pry against we will put this block here. 00:50 more
